Colorful greetings and joyous wishes on this auspicious occasion of Holi, from the heartland of Komoan! Let the vibrant hues of this festival fill your life with positivity and optimism. For many years, we have been creating festival greetings and our greetings have always been visually appealing. So,This time, the development team was tasked with creating an interactive experience for the greeting we will be sharing for the 2023 Holi festival.
Our Experiment
The interactive fluid stimulation technology offers a unique and immersive experience that allows users to explore and play with the vibrant colors and textures of Holi dynamically and engagingly.
Technology used
We used simple HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in conjunction with WebGL technology.
About WebGL
WebGL: WebGL (Web Graphics Library) is a JavaScript API for rendering high-performance interactive 3D and 2D graphics within any compatible web browser without the use of plug-ins. WebGL does so by introducing an API that closely conforms to OpenGL ES 2.0 that can be used in HTML <canvas> elements. This conformance makes it possible for the API to take advantage of hardware graphics acceleration provided by the user’s device.
WebGL Fluid Simulation: WebGL Water Simulation by Evan Wallace – Experiments with Google.
A Fluid Simulation (”fluid sim”) is a special toolset that helps to mimic the effect of fluids in an environment. It’s important to note here that the term “fluids” is used more along the scientific terms, where the term fluid can incorporate fire, smoke, gas, etc.
Types of fluid simulation
Fluid can be simulated from 2 viewpoints, Lagrangian or Eulerian. In the Lagrangian viewpoint, we simulate the fluid as discrete blobs of fluid. Each particle has various properties, such as mass, velocity, etc. The benefit of this approach is that the conservation of mass comes easily.
Challenges & learning
Challenges: To Calculate exact Velocity, Pressure and to get the exact Pressure applied by the user.
Learning: In this Project, We learn About WebGl And OpenGL Technologies and also learn about fluid simulation interaction.
The interactive fluid stimulation technology accurately simulates the movement and behaviour of fluids, creating a highly realistic and immersive experience so that the users will feel like they are playing with real Holi colors, adding to the authenticity of the experience. It also allows the user to customize their experience by adjusting the viscosity or the speed and the direction of the flow that adds a new level of engagement and encourages users to experiment with different combinations and settings.
This experiment allows us to provide a special and captivating method to experience Holi’s joy and beauty in addition to offering a fun way of interaction. At Kormoan, our approach has always been to provide a cutting-edge approach to create and utilize the power of new technology which enriches the user experiences.
